Description

Two hours of walking and shooting through Amsterdam, from the last daylight to true darkness. Up to 5 people, one tripod per person. You'll learn exactly when to change what setting and why, so you know what you're doing instead of just memorising a setting.

You start while it's still light, shoot the blue hour (the best light of the evening) and finish with long exposures in the dark: light trails from boats, reflections in the water, lit facades. Along the way you'll learn why you choose certain settings, how to focus when it's dark, and how to calm down a busy scene.

Choose your route
Amstel route — from the Blauwbrug via the Magere Brug and the seven bridges of the Reguliersgracht to the Nieuwmarkt. Just over 2.5 km, flat.
Centraal route — five to six spots, all within a ten-minute walk of Centraal Station, from the Damrak to the IJ. About 2 km, flat.

What you get
Personal guidance from me, at every spot along the way, from beginner to experienced
The full route, background on each spot and settings tips, on location
Photo assignments along the way, so you go home with a concrete result

Everyone sets their own level beforehand: beginner, intermediate or experienced. I adjust the explanation accordingly, so it's easy to join with a group of mixed levels.

The walk runs from September through March, when the sun sets early enough. Start and end times shift with the season, since we follow sunset. After your booking I'll contact you to confirm the date you picked actually works.
